1. One of the biggest aspects of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is keyword density. Keyword density is the number of times a certain word or group of words (keyword or phrase) is being used in connection to the total number of words on that page. Example:  Google searches the content of a page for keywords and phrases and depending on this, ranks the web page. This fact alone means that your content should be useful and full of rich facts.

2.Gathering links to the web site you have created guarantees search engine optimization. One way links can help when other webmasters offer a link to your site or if you exchange links with webmasters for a cost.

3. Your site’s domain name should ideally contain a keyword or be relative to the content of your page.

4. A site map drawn carefully will allow users to navigate smoothly ensuring that they keep coming back to the website.

5. HTML/Meta tags should be ranked according to priority and when you plan the site contents care must be taken to see that this content flows in a way that reflects the heading tag structure. If your content is confusing or

Boca Meta Tag Optimization

May 19, 2010 Leave a comment

Abinko provides meta tag optimization to enhance traffic to your site which increases visibility and, ultimately, sales. Meta tag optimization is one of the first steps involved in search engine optimization of your website.

What are meta tags?
Meta tags are a part of the HTML coding on each page of your website. Meta tags contain vital information about your webpage assisting the search engine to understand and crawl your webpage. There are two important HTML tags on each page: the title tag and the description tag. Title tag,  as the name describes, contains the title of your web page. Following suit, the description tag contains a short description of the content on your web page. Your end user can only see the title of your web page in their browsers. It is critical for search engines to see the correct titles and descriptions for each page in order to gain better search engine rankings.

While there are other forms of meta tags, the title and description tags are the most critical for SEO (search engine optimization). Other meta tags are generally added for private communication with the browsers and search engines. These meta tags, for example, can tell a browser what “character set” to use or whether a web page has self-rated itself in terms of adult content.

If your site isn’t current with correct or adequate meta tags, contact Abinko today to learn more about this critical component of web design and web marketing!

SEO and Web Design

May 11, 2010 Leave a comment

Web design and SEO go together hand in hand. Generally, web design is accomplished with the use of different applications such as:  HTML, CSS, XHTML, PHP, JavaScript and Photoshop. If you aren’t using an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy, your web design efforts might be wasted.

How can your site gain rankings in the Search Engines? A site can gain rankings by the use of specific KEYWORDS and PHRASES. Your goal should be to have your site appear in the top 10 results of a search. This gives you great chances of your site being clicked and experiencing traffic.  Optimizing a site and content for the search engine, for better ranking in search engine results positions is known as search engine optimization (SEO). Unfortunately,  many designing experts don’t take time to code a site properly or they don’t know how to perform proper SEO. The code optimization is simply HTML coding practices which, when followed properly,  leads to effective SEO.

Abinko can effectively design your site so that it is easy to navigate and will be found on the major Search Engines which brings in traffic, inquiries and revenue!

Web Design: Banners

April 14, 2010 Leave a comment

The web design world has a huge space reserved for banners. Web Designers have spent countless hours trying to design the “perfect” banner which should be simple, yet eye catching. Here are a few ideas to help create a successful banner.

Curiosity killed the cat!  – Banners that create curiosity are banners that are usually clicked. “Do Not Click Here”. Why not? How many of you have seen this slogan in a banner? If you are like most people, when you first saw it, you clicked on it. This is the number one tactic that web designers use when designing a banner.

Web designers are constantly looking for ways to grab a browser’s curiosity. As designers,  their focus  is to attract the visitor to the banner, usually completely ignoring the other elements on the web page that are more important to the website owner.

Simple is Better!

While a web designer wants to grab a browser’s attention, they also do not want to annoy the potential customer. That is why a simple, yet attractive design is better. Although research shows that blue and yellow are the most efficient color to use in a banner, Black and White banners have been seen a lot lately. Try playing with colors to see what stands out the best on a particular page.

Separating Web Content from Presentation

April 12, 2010 Leave a comment

The main theory of separating the content from its presentation is to give developers a significant framework to develop their website allowing them the ability to modify the website’s look and appearance whenever they desire without the need to reconstruct every time.

Don’t misunderstand, there isn’t just one method for separating content from presentation. Since the introduction of new technologies such as PHP, ASP and GCI, allow web developers to generate dynamic web pages, many businesses have established creative ways to develop their website applications using this concept as their base.

Recently, the internet community has been trying to create a set of “standards” for creating web sites. A new technology Cascading Style Sheets (AKA CSS) has been released. Actually, CSS is nothing “new” as it does not handle a web page’s presentation differently. CSS lets a developer define a style for each html tag element.  CSS is very similar to the old design days when programmers or developers attached a variable to each html tag to define it’s style. The difference is that CSS definitions are cross browser compatible and the old way was usually unique for only one browser.

W3C, (the internet standards organization) has encouraged the use of CSS by enhancing its ability to control the web page’s appearance and nagivation. CSS has added new style options that have not been added to the HTML description language. This was definitely a smart moved, forcing web developers to use CSS to gain an attractive web page that also supports the principle of content separation.

The separation of content from its presentation deals with the styling aspects, but also with browser compatibility issues as well. The styling aspects were the first to be handled by web developers and web designers. As the complexity of information technology (IT) systems become increasingly more difficult to maintain, the internet community is looking for a solution that will become a standard so that content can be easily be managed. One goal for this standard is to define a “language” that IT systems can “talk” with each other and exchange information. Large businesses have basically used many different software platforms in their networks to conduct business. Internet based applications can provide a single platform that can act as an intermediary between all of these different systems and allow communication between them.

Abinko: Pay Per Click Options

April 6, 2010 Leave a comment

Pay Per Click  is an advertising method done via the Internet. It is used on various websites which advertisers pay a fee to a host every time a visitor clicks their link.  With search engines, advertisers generally bid on keyword phrases relevant to their target market. Content sites commonly charge a fixed price per click rather than use a bidding system.

The term: cost per click is the amount of money an advertiser pays search engines and other Internet publishers for a single click on the appropriate advertisement.

Websites that use pay per click ads will display the appropriate ad when a keyword search matches the advertisers keyword list. These advertisements are known as sponsored links or sponsored ads, and appear to the side of above organic (or natural) results on search engine results pages.

Although many PPC providers exist, Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Microsoft adCenter are the three largest network operators, and all three operate under a bid-based model.

Online Banking Solution Benefits with ASP.NET

March 29, 2010 Leave a comment

Jwaala created its MoneyTracker online personal finance management solution using Ruby on Rails development tools for deployment on a Linux operating system, Apache Web server, and MySQL stack. When the company found that its banking and credit union customers, who use MoneyTracker to give users a richer online banking experience, were more comfortable with the Microsoft Application Platform, Jwaala rewrote its application using ASP.NET MVC (a downloadable addition to the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5) for deployment using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise (64-bit) database software running on the Windows Server 2008 Enterprise for 64-Bit Systems operating system. While Jwaala developers were fans of Ruby on Rails, they have found that ASP.NET MVC, Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, and other Microsoft tools and technology combine to create a more efficient development environment. (Read More Here)

In January of 2002, Microsoft developed ASP.NET,   a web application framework that allows web programmers to build dynamic web sites, web applications and web services.  ASP.NET is built on the Common Language Runtime (CLR), allowing web programmers to write ASP.NET code using any supported .NET language.

Key Elements to Search Engine Marketing

March 24, 2010 Leave a comment

Search engine marketing is a very general phrase that basically refers to online marketing. SEM is the best way to enhance traffic to your site. Traffic refers to the amount of visitors that view your site.  In order to increase inquiries and sales, web site owners want to have as much traffic as possible.  With search engine marketing, there are a couple of different ways to go about this.

Pay-Per-Click: Pay-per-click (PPC) is the easiest form of SEM.   With PPC marketing, you are basically paying for the placement of a small advertisement on a search engine.  This form of SEM must be monitored closely to be sure that your return investment is appropriate to the PPC rates. PPC is an effective method of SEM, but it should never be relied upon as a total solution to your marketing needs.

Search Engine Optimization: Search engine optimization(SEO) is the 2nd method in search engine marketing.  With SEO, the main objective is to get your site ranked in the top 10 in the search results for specific keywords. Unlike pay-per-click, all of the clicks that you receive on these pages are free, which makes your return on investment very high. SEO does take time, however SEO combined with pay-per-click generally get faster results.
